Daniel Hadley, Director, began working with the department immediately following his graduation from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design (2010), where he studied urban planning. While a student, Daniel was a teaching fellow in the course "Designing the American City," and received a Community Service Fellowship for an internship at Envision Utah, a public-process oriented planning organization.
As an analyst, Daniel oversaw several departments, redesigned the city's website, and spearheaded the purchase of its streetlight system, which is anticipated to save the city millions of dollars. He was also the project manager for the first ever happiness survey. He is interested in the application of predictive analytics to performance management, and in the relationship between wellbeing and city policy. John Harding, Senior Analyst, is a native of Methuen, Massachusetts and received his BA in Political Science from Providence College in May 2006. He recently earned a Master of Science in Public Affairs (MSPA) at UMass Boston, where he focused on economic development, transportation/land use policy, and quantitative analysis.
Prior to joining the SomerStat office, John worked as a Government Affairs Intern with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC), and a Research Associate with the Ciccolo Group (a planning and municipal government consultancy). He also previously held positions in the Commonwealth's House of Representatives and the Edward J. Collins Center for Public Management.
Skye Stewart, Senior Analyst, began working for the City of Somerville in November 2011. An Alabama native and proud East Somerville resident, Skye earned a BA in Political Science and Sociology at Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama. She completed a Master of Public Policy (MPP) at the University of Michigan in 2010 where she focused on Local and State Government Policy Analysis. Doug Willardson, Financial Analyst, began working for the City since January 2010. He has a B.A. in Political Science and a Master's in Public Administration from Brigham Young University where he focused on local government management and finance. Prior to working for the City of Somerville, Doug was an analyst with the Administrative Office of Lake County, California and the City Manager's Office of Lehi, Utah. While working for the Lake County, California, he helped the County receive the "Community Challenge Award" from the California Association of Counties for community revitalization. As a native of Utah, Doug enjoys the New England lifestyle and the history that abounds in Somerville.
Austin Faison, Junior Analyst, began working for the City of Somerville in May 2012. A New Hampshire native, Austin earned a BA in Political Science at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. He completed a Master of Public Administration (MPA) at Northeastern University, where he focused on municipal government, performance measurements, and multiple policy areas.
