Workers’ Compensation
The Workers' Compensation Department is located within the Personnel/Human Resources Department in Room 014, Somerville City Hall. Workers' Compensation administers benefits for all City of Somerville employees excluding public safety officials. The Workers' Compensation Department strives to ensure effective and efficient delivery of benefits.
In order for the City of Somerville Workers' Compensation Department to provide adequate service, it is imperative that all work related injuries be reported as soon as possible, preferably the same day the injury occurred or within twenty-four (24) hours of the occurrence. Prompt notification of an employee's injury will enable the Workers' Compensation Department to investigate the case thoroughly and expedite benefits to the employee.
The goal of the Workers' Compensation Department is to ensure that eligible, injured employees receive quality and timely medical services, receive timely benefits, and return to the work as soon as they are capable.
