Additional Information: The Park at Somerville Junction, located along the planned extension of the Community Path, holds historic importance as the location of the former rail station (Somerville Junction). The park will resume its historic meaning with the addition of a subway station on Lowell Street with the Green Line Extension project. Funding for this park came from an EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grant, a Massachusetts Department of Conservation Services Urban Self Help Grant, and matching City funds, including a Shape Up Somerville Grant.
